It was pretty quiet today (not surprisingly) but there was a lot on. Lots of practice and qualifying sessions for Australian GT, Aussie Racing cars and V8 Super Car racing.

Eddy vs Kalas

Boy, was it hot. I went through around 6 juice bottles. I think it was around 35 Celsius with the track sitting at 50 Celsius! The stands have no shade and there it's a fair walk just to get some (overpriced) water. Tomorrows temperatures are set to be closer to 40 so I'll only be there for on hour or two perhaps. There are some F1 practice sessions that would be cool to watch.

Back In Black (actually white, orange and grey)

Is it grey or gray. I don't even know anymore.

So, A pre-made theme and no sign of a custom CMS. I never thought I'd see the day. I'll likely bastardise both in time. I was neglecting the site before simply because it was falling apart. I didn't want to spend time fixing it. With the CMS now under control I can focus on other things. I have a couple of Xbox 360 game reviews I want to write and some more on SVG (finally). Til' then (and I promise it wont take too long) here are some Family Guy quotes:

Tom Tucker: A bit of breaking news. A local family is forced out of their home by ghosts. Who are they gonna call?
Diane Simmons (sighs): Ghostbusters, Tom.
Tom Tucker: No, Diane. Their insurance company. That's just stupid what you said.

(Lois finds a note in Chris's pocket)
Lois: Huh, what's this? You know Stewie, Mommy doesn't usually read things out of Chris's pocket. She's more respectful than that.
Stewie: Whatever helps you sleep at night, bitch.

Stewie: Rupert, did you call that engineer at Lockheed yet? Well of course you didn't you worthless little... (Hits Rupert the Toy Bear). There, see what you made me do? Do you think I enjoy hitting you? Well actually I do. I enjoy it so much I'm going to do it AGAIN!!! (Hits Rupert the Toy Bear)

It's all quiet here

Geez hasn't it been a busy few weeks?

Work has been busy - but there haven't been any late nights so I can't blame by absence on that. I've mostly been playing the Xbox, mostly.

The CoD 4 multiplayer Beta has been taking up a lot of time lately. It's one of the few first person shooters that I've enjoyed playing. Perhaps that's only because of playing it multiplayer.

I do have a couple of issues with it though, for biggest of which is that you cannot change a weapon's rate of fire. Most modern rifles/sub machines guns etc have the option to fire one bullet or three bullets in a burst for example. In COD CoD we're stuck with the same rate all of the time. Players of the Tom Clancy series will understand how annoying this is.

I've been playing Forza Motorsport 2 a lot. I'm levelling up. Slowly It takes a long time to go up the levels in the later stages.

I grabbed an Xbox 360 Elite yesterday. Sure, I have a working one but it was bought in the UK and that means it has a non-existent warranty out here and it can't play DVDs either. I didn't want my Xbox to die and find myself in a position where I have to go out and by another one which could potentially have the faulty hardware.

The next few months are gonna be tough on the wallet, with several great games coming out. Ace Combat 6, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Timeshift, Project Gotham Racing 4 to name but a few.

I already have Stranglehold and I have Halo 3 pre-ordered (it has a midnight release! they said I could collect the game at monday midnight - school day!!) and I'll probably use Bioshock (and possibly Stanglehold if I'm done with it) as a trade in for Ace Combat or Project Gotham Racing.

The weather has been a bit foul lately and I've been unable to have a good day out with the Camera. I'm suffering Flickr withdrawl.
