The new Tomb Raider: Legend was in stores last week while I was working down in Bristol. Luckily I've had it on pre-order for about a month now from Amazon so I thought it would be sat under the letterbox waiting for me. Nope. Amazon for some strange reason used larger packaging than usual and it wouldn't fit through the letterbox. I was up at 8am on Saturday morning to collect it from the Post Office before it closed at 09:30am. All that malarkey after having been out all Friday night drinking as soon as the plane landed.

Back to the point though. This latest installment from Lara Croft comes close to being as playable as the first two. In fact the playablity was better I think. The levels are well designed, the puzzles were good fun, Lara's boobs were bigger... err ummm... Another great plot. Just as brilliant as the first few games. Oh and lots of tombs! We kind of lost the tombs for a long time and it's great hanging around them again.

The only thing I can complain about is the length of the game. At only 6-7 levels long it must be at least half the size of the first game. Like the first few games you just wanted to keep on playing and playing but in the first Tomb Raider when you reached the end it felt like the end. You had spent so much time on this great big journey (and so much time sitting on your bum) and then rewarded with this great ending. In Legend I was left feeling "Is that it finished already?". Seems to be common with games these days.

Four stars. I wanted more. 10 more levels... 20 more levels!

Sarah is coming up to stay for a whole week (whoo hoo!). All I need now is a cunning plan to keep her here without resorting to kidnapping. I didn't realise until last week that I have Friday and Monday off work which means we will have 4 whole days together. 4 days off work sounds like heaven for any working person I think ;)
