Did anybody else know that David Cameron (Conservative Party Leader) has a weblog now (found through BBC)? What do you make of it? Well done to Daz for designing the Tories new logo by the way ;)
I wonder if it's had the right marketing for it to be noticed properly? Is it a smart thing to do?
My opinion? Oh I'm glad you asked ;) Before I start I'll say now that I'm a Tory hater disliker.
I think it's a smart move. Everybody knows that Cameron is actually a decent guy with decent ideas and nobody likes the Tories so why not show the face that everybody likes? Hmmmm.
My issue with webcameron is that politics in this country should be about governments and me and you. While it's good to know that Cameron is an alright guy, the election and the government that is in power is about the right party - the party that represent what the people want (far from what happens I know, but it tries... sometimes).
What I'm trying to say is that I don't want to know about him. I don't care about how nice he is. I want to know what his party will do. What their ideas are. What they plan to do. I want politics to be politics and not for a party not to be thought of as a person and I think this site is trying to do that. When people think of the Tory party they should be thinking of the party not the leader.
Oh and not to be a total bitch but the Tories website is all built with tables yet claims to be accessible. W3C says that's fine aslong as you follow the guidelines - anybody see any summary attributes in that source? This is exactly the kind of thing that Roger has been talking about.
