Update: Rooftops and Last Summer (both partial) up on YouTube now! Now you can see some of the greatness.

The venue: Edinburgh Corn Exchange, 3rd December 06. The scene: Gale force winds, pissing it down with rain and a very long line.

I bought my ticket to see Lostprophets within 5 minutes of them being out way back in September or October. I was at work early to make sure I'd be on the website in time. I don't know why because while they are pretty big, I doubt they would have sold out in the first day. In fact I think it was a good month or so before the venue sold out. Still, I didn't have to worry about that because I had my ticket.

Anyway, I thought I'd be smart and wait an hour before heading over so that I didn't have to line up. I was in no rush to see Bring Me The Horizon. I actually thought that I'd be sticking out like a sore thumb there. I mean without eyeliner, long straightened hair covering one eye so that I can hardly see I'm not the coolest cat in the world. Heck I wasn't even wearing Converse All Stars, didn't have my boxer shorts showing and wasn't wearing a studded belt! Were they even going to let me in?!

So I turn up an hour after the doors open and there was still a long line growing by the minute. (What's with that? Did everybody go late in an attempt not to be too early therefore making them early?) Eventually get in only to find that BMTH hadn't even played yet :( It was another hour or so before Lostprophets were on.

They were worth the 2 month (+1 hour) wait though. For the most part they were playing newer tracks from the latest album but went through a lot of older ones too, like Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja and Last Summer. And then there was Last Train. The only time I've gone (and seen people) go so mad was when Muse played Plug In Baby earlier on in the year. I think I'm only just able to talk again.

Photos are up on Flickr, although they aren't the best quality.
